Dugganite Roofing Compound W/B PP6
Dugganite Roofing Compounds are designed to provide a tough durable Weatherproofing system on a wide range of substrates, it has excellent adhesion to virtually and sound substrate and its waterproofing qualities makes it an ideal treatment for roofs and other surfaces that require protection against the elements, being water based it is safe and easy to handle, no heating is required or any cutting or joints necessary, Plas-Roof Compounds have been extensively used in many parts of the World. It has been available for many years and has more than proved itself as a tough flexible coating offering protection and decoration on a wide range of substrates.
Suitable Substrates
Dugganite Roofing Compounds can be applied to the following substrates:- Bitumen, Felt, Asbestos Cement Sheets, Slate, Tiles, Concrete Blocks, and Zinc Sheeting.
Method of Application
Dugganite Roofing Compounds can be applied by brush, spray gun and roller.
Removal of Fungi, Dirt, Loose Paint etc.
It is essential that the substrate is properly cleaned and repaired, large areas can be cleaned down by using a high pressure cleaner, for smaller areas we recommend the following procedure:-
a) Loose paint, wire brush and scraper, Paint Remover
b) Fungi, Dirt etc.
Remove as much as possible by using a wire brush and scraper then hose the surface with water, apply fungicidal wash Ref. PP26, using a plastic watering can onto the surface and scrub down while the area is still wet, then thoroughly wash off the residue preferably using a high pressure hose, repeat this procedure should there be any fungi etc. remaining.
Metal Substrates
Remove any rust with a reputable rust remover and prime with Zinc Phosphate see Ref. PP15 before applying the Dugganite Roofing Compounds.
Surface Pre -Treatment for Masonry and Asbestos Sheets
After cleaning down the surface, these substrates should be coated with S/B Stabiliser see Ref. PP22, especially if the substrate is porous and friable or showing signs of dusting, allow the S/B Stabiliser to dry before overcoating with the Plas-Roof Compound.
Bitumen and Felt Surfaces
After the cleaning and repairs have been completed, apply W/B Stabiliser see Ref. PP23, allow to dry before applying top coats.
